This new mount gets securely "sandwiched" between the dash and power mirror control. It has an integrated stainless steel 1/4"-20 threaded hole. This is a common size used on phone, camera, and microphone mounts.
Although anything with a 1/4"-20 thread could be mounted here it's mainly designed for use as a phone mount. Placing a phone here allows for keeping it tucked out of the way and is also a bit more "stealthy".
